Google CEO Eric Schmidt feels there are four companies that dominate the center of the technology sector because they have exploited a unique platform.

Google, Amazon, Apple and Facebook each use sophisticated computer science to identify a category and become ‘famous’ for it very, very quickly. Technology provides that opportunity as well as the potential for economies of scale.
